Every year, I&UGroup grows wheat, corn, rapeseed, sunflowers and sugar beet.
The choice of crops is based on market prospects and optimal crop rotation for high yields and soil conservation.
Technologies: classic land cultivation with the latest agricultural innovations, over 150 units of modern equipment annually.
Sugar Production
I&U Group owns one of Ukraine's sugar factories, Novomyrhorod Sugar LLC (Kapitanivsky Sugar Factory), founded in 1846.
The plant has been modernised to improve quality, optimise energy consumption and increase capacity from 2.5 to 4 thousand tonnes of raw materials processed per day. Equipment from leading European manufacturers is used.
Production of 35,000 tonnes of sugar per year.
The company operates in accordance with DSTU and GOST standards and is certified under the international standard ISO 22000:2018, which guarantees product safety based on HACCP principles.
The products are exported to EU countries and are also in demand on the domestic market of Ukraine, supporting the country's food security.
Electricity Generation
In 2020, with funding from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), a new direction was launched – the production of biogas with subsequent electricity generation, with a capacity of 5.5 MW/hour. The biogas complex converts production waste into electricity.
The project cost is €23 million, of which €15 million is financed by the EBRD and the Clean Investment Fund (CIF).
Suppliers: ABWASSER-UND ABFALLTECHNIK GMBH (equipment), FORMTEC (construction of the facility), KTS ENGINEERING SRO (cogeneration).
Raw materials: beet pulp and corn silage, bird droppings.
The construction of a biogas complex solved the problem of beet pulp disposal.
It is planned to produce more than 48,000 MWh of electricity and 140,000 tonnes of organic fertilisers.
